Masala Chai

About this Recipe
Nothing beats a revitalising cup of chai!
Ingredients
- 1 cm of grated ginger
- 4 cardamom pods
- 3 cloves
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 3 strands saffron
- 1 cm cinnamon bark
- 1 tsp Indian black tea
- 1 tsp coconut sugar
- 2/3 cup water
- 2/3 cup milk
Instructions
- Grate the ginger and add it to the pot with the water.
- Bring it to a boil.
- While the water is warming up, crush your spices with a pestle and mortar.
- Let it boil for 2-3 min to infuse the water with the spices.
- Add your tea and sugar and let it simmer for another minute or two.
- Add milk and bring it to a boil. Don't let overspill!!
- Once the chai is a deep red/brown colour, it's ready.
- Serve and enjoy!
